MORNING TEA☕ SATURDAY AUGUST 2, 2025. SUCH AN AMAZING PLAN. TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 1:11, ESV- In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will. TODAY’S WORD: I hope that you know how much your life matters today, how important you are to God. He thought you were so valuable that He took time to plan all of your days before you were born. You have a divine assignment. When the Scripture says that “He’s working all things according to the counsel of His will,” that means He has the final say. He says His plans for you are for good. He says He will do exceeding abundantly above all you can imagine. Now keep Him in first place. Keep honouring Him and doing the right thing when it’s hard. Don’t try to figure everything out. He’s doing things that you may not understand right now. It might not make sense in the moment, but if you stay in faith, you’ll see what God is up to. If you have to know everything, you’re going to be frustrated. Leave it in His hands. “God, I don’t understand what You’re doing, but I trust You. I know You’re in control. I know that You’re moving me toward my purpose for being here. PRAYER FOR TODAY: Father, thank You for Your promise that You will work out Your plans for my life according to Your will. Thank You that I can stay in peace knowing that You are working behind the scenes and directing the outcomes. Help me to be patient and know that You are bringing me into my purpose. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

How I Stay Productive in a World of Digital Distractions 👇🏽 Every day, my phone buzzes non-stop — emails, notifications, offers, reminders. Each one promising something urgent, something I "need" to see right now. As a Digital Native, it's the reality of life online, and sometimes it feels like I'm drowning in a sea of content, vying for my attention from every angle. Sound familiar? You’re not alone. The constant barrage of distractions makes staying focused a daily battle. One minute, I’m working on a task; the next, I’ve been scrolling through social media or checking my inbox for an hour, wondering where all the time went. The digital overload isn’t just annoying; it’s exhausting. It chips away at productivity and makes it harder to accomplish meaningful work. But Here’s What I Do to Stay on Track: 1. Establish a "Digital Routine" I've set specific times for when I check emails and social media—morning, midday, and evening. This gives me control instead of letting notifications dictate my attention. It’s all about creating boundaries. Outside of these windows, I silence notifications. It’s amazing how liberating it feels. 2. Leverage Time Blocks I also use time-blocking techniques to schedule focused work intervals (usually 45–60 minutes), followed by short breaks. This allows my brain to recharge while keeping me productive. 3. Single-tasking Over Multitasking As tempting as it is to juggle multiple things at once, I’ve learned that multitasking kills focus. Instead, I prioritize single-tasking. I focus entirely on one thing at a time, and once that’s done, I move to the next. My productivity shot up when I stopped trying to do everything at once. 4. Mindful Breaks Breaks aren’t optional—they’re essential. But I’ve learned the hard way that scrolling through social media doesn’t count. Instead, I take mindful breaks by going for a short walk or chatting with fellow humans around me. It resets my mind and helps me return to work with more energy and focus. 5. Unplugging to Recharge Believe it or not, sometimes the best way to stay productive is by doing nothing. I carve out time to unplug completely, whether it's taking naps, reading a book, talking with friends and family, or practicing mindfulness. It’s a reset button for my brain and helps me feel refreshed to tackle digital tasks when I come back. A Thought That Stays With Me "In a world where you can be constantly distracted, learning to focus is a superpower." I’ve found that staying productive in the digital age isn’t about cutting yourself off from technology but about using it wisely. The key is to take control of the technology before it controls you. To be an outstanding person, you must be Consistently Giving Value that aligns with your Purpose This was the major insight that I got from panel discussions at the two events I attended last week, namely #HotelExpoNigeria2024 (#HEN2024) and #HowWeMadeItInAfrica (#HWMIIA) Other things I learnt from the brilliant speakers are: - Events are a great place to interact with public figures and people who share similar interests as you - Building an impactful brand also requires the confidence to let people see the person or people behind the brand - Be authentic, your experiences and processes can help others overcome their current struggles - Always have a benchmark of excellent people in the world that inspire your craft while making good use of where you currently are - Collaboration is a fast way to expand your reach - Keep improving and learning new things - An effective way to get people's attention is to document your process - Innovation requires experimenting as some of the greatest discoveries were birthed by several failures, accidents and experiments - Study your competition to find gaps and create opportunities that make you unique - Be flexible and adaptable to changes in your industry - If you have passion for something, share it consistently even if you don't always get the likes, comments, and views you expect - To be an amazing content creator, you must have a clear intention and a defined audience because your content is not for everybody - Learn to accept the positive labels people put on you because of your content e.g. Pastor, Marketing Pro, Influencer, Leader, CEO etc. - The Holy Spirit is there to always guide you, not just in spiritual matters but in all of life's matters including content creation - don't limit the Holy Spirit - The fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 are also important recipes that are require for your long-term success in life. - Being consistent on social media does not mean you have to post everyday. It means your people (audience) are always guaranteed of one, two or three posts from you every week - People gravitate towards or follow you when they perceive that they can get value from you - The most profitable niche is yourself, being known for a thing is good but in reality nobody likes seeing the same thing every time - Build your brand, create helpful content, sell solutions - The most important resource in content creation is your interest - what interests you can make you rich - Success is often the outcome of many years of hardwork and consistency - People see your consistency, they might not react with a like on your content but they see what you do - keep showing up - Leverage culture to connect with people but shape culture to create a better world Did you enjoy reading this post?
