Account & Data Deletion – ChantUp

ChantUp allows every user to request deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time.
When a deletion request is submitted, we permanently remove user information from our systems as described below.


How to Request Account Deletion

You can delete your ChantUp account using either method:

1. In-App Account Deletion

Inside the ChantUp app, go to:

Profile → Settings → Delete Account

After confirming, your account is scheduled for deletion.

2. Request via Email

If you cannot access your account, send a deletion request to:

Subject: Account Deletion Request
Include: Your registered email or phone number

Our team will verify your identity and complete the deletion.


What Data Gets Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Profile information (name, username, bio, photo)

  • Email address or phone number

  • Posts, chants, comments, and uploaded media

  • Marketplace listings and purchase history (where possible)

  • App usage data and preferences

  • Followers and following lists


What Data May Be Retained

We may keep the following only if required by:

  • Legal obligations

  • Fraud prevention

  • Financial record-keeping

This may include:

  • Transaction records (stored for up to 180 days)

  • Security logs (stored for up to 90 days)

  • Abuse or violation reports (kept as needed for safety compliance)

We do not retain deleted content for any other purpose.


How Long Deletion Takes

  • Standard deletion: within 7 days

  • Data backup erasure: up to 30 days

  • Legal/financial retention: per compliance requirements

You will receive an email confirmation after your account is deleted.
