  • His name was Tee (not his real name), the huge, terrifying guy who made my little, innocent life a hell cage in Primary One, school was a nightmare. During the day, he tormented me, and I couldn't understand why my teacher didn't stop him. I was afraid so I endured his bullying for four terms.

That was it! I had reached my breaking point and confided in my older sister. Sister girl threatened fire and brimstone, but bullies don't succumb to threats, so that didn't help much. I have to take a stand!

He would take my notes, my pen, write chalk all over me, and give me little knocks on my head. One day, I pushed him back when he tried to grab my note. Ahhh, my classroom was like a graveyard; the silence! Mogbe, I knew Gbesere oo. I was in trouble.
Ohhh, he beat me silly afterward, but something happened. I was no longer afraid. I had seen the best and worst of him, so I knew I could handle that.

Life in itself is a big ole bully, that you didn't get the desired outcome out of something does not mean you lost! You only lose when you say you lose.
Sometimes the worst outcomes teach you that you can handle the worst outcomes.
    That's just it!

As I write, I get reminded of the story of a little guy who got beat up silly by a big guy.

The big guy had no idea what he had gotten himself into; he knew nothing of what was coming for him.
Every time the little guy saw the big guy, irrespective of the location, he would square up for a fight, lols, and would get beat all over again. But little guy had become somewhat immune to the beatings, he was determined to have the last laugh.

Oh, he would go after the big guy wherever he found him. This continued for a while till big guy got tired and would run away from little guy. He did everything to avoid crossing paths with him. Sometimes he would not go out the whole day for fear of little guy.

You may lose the battle today, but the war is not over; you can still win! Just do what the little guy did: go again, go again. Keep going until big guy does everything to avoid you.
Hey! You may not be the best, strongest or smartest, but you can crack the code.
    Now go bully the bully!
