    TUESDAY JANUARY 7, 2025.

    YOU PROMISED.

    TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
    Isaiah 62:6, AMPC -
You who...put the Lord in remembrance [of His promises], keep not silence.

    TODAY'S WORD:
Most of us are good at telling God our problems, but Isaiah tells us to put the Lord in remembrance of His promises, not our problems. It's easy to complain and say, "God, these people aren't treating me right. My back's hurting, and my child isn't doing right." But don't just pray the problem, pray the promises. When you face difficulties, find a promise in the Scripture and remind God of what He said about you. "God, You promised to restore health back to me. You promised You would be my vindicator. You promised that my children would be mighty in the land.

God is not obligated to bring to pass what you say, but He is obligated to bring to pass what He says. When you say, "God, You promised," angels go to work, forces of darkness are pushed back, chains are broken, favor is released in a new way, and impossible situations turn around. Nothing can stand against our God.

    PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You that You know everything I need before I even ask. Thank You that I can stir up my faith and put You in remembrance of Your promises. I believe that when I say 'You promised,' something powerful happens because You watch over Your Word to perform it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

  • Soul care

‘Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.’
    3 John v. 2 NKJV

Your body is like an ‘earth suit’ that will eventually die and be replaced with a new, celestial, Christlike body. Paul writes, ‘We have this treasure in earthen vessels’ (2 Corinthians 4:7 KJV). The treasure, the thing that matters most, the thing that will live for eternity, is your soul. John writes, ‘Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.’ Someone has estimated that the average body contains enough phosphorous to make 800,000 match heads, enough sugar to make 60 cubes, enough salt to cover 20 spoons, and enough iron to make a three-inch nail. The rest is just dust and water.

The story is told of a little boy who was taught in Sunday school, ‘For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return’ (Genesis 3:19 KJV). One day, when he was looking under the bed, his mother asked him, ‘What are you looking at?’ He replied, ‘My Sunday school teacher said that we come from dust and go back to dust. There’s somebody under my bed, and I can’t tell whether they’re coming or going!’

Seriously, since your body is temporal and your soul is eternal, you must take the long view and practice soul care. Nurture your soul daily with God’s Word. Fortify and enrich it by spending time each day with God in prayer. Discover the talents and treasures He has placed within you and invest them into the kingdom of God. Next time someone says to you, ‘Take care of yourself,’ think not only about your body but about your soul.

    Genesis 18-19, Matthew 6:1-15

  • MORNING TEA

    TUESDAY JANUARY 21, 2025.

    UNEXPECTED SUNSHINE.

    TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
    Matthew 6:22, TLB
"If your eye is pure, there will be sunshine in your soul.”

    TODAY’S WORD:
When we have an attitude of faith—we’re positive, hopeful, expecting good things—that pure eye is letting sunshine into our life. But when we go around stressed out, worried, or thinking the clouds over our health or finances are never going to change, that’s stopping the sun. It’s causing more clouds to roll in, more defeat, and more mediocrity. We have to start letting some sunshine into our lives. It doesn’t start with God; it starts with us.

Instead of being discouraged by the dark clouds, our attitude should be, “Any moment this can change. Healing is coming, promotion is coming, the right person is coming, and breakthroughs are coming.” If you want to see the clouds open up, you have to have this expectancy. Shake off the negativity, quit talking about what’s not working out, and turn it around. “God, I know You’re in control of these clouds. They will pass. I believe at any moment I’m going to see that unexpected sunshine.”

    PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You that I walk by faith and not by sight. Thank You that Your power can turn clouded situations around, open the right door, and bring an abundance of unexpected favour. I am living with a sense of expectancy that You are about to bring some unexpected sunshine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

  • MORNING TEA

    WEDNESDAY JANUARY 22, 2025.

    ANOTHER CHANCE.

    TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
    Lamentations 3:21-23
"But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

    TODAY’S WORD:
We all have opportunities that we’ve missed and times when we failed. We knew God’s calling was on our lives. He’d given us a dream, a great spouse to love, a door had opened, but we let distractions and compromise get us off course. We look back and think, “What could I have become if I had been more disciplined, controlled my temper, finished school, or forgiven that person?” It’s easy to live in regrets and think our life is limited because of past choices. We knew better if only we’d done better. The good news is that God is the God of another chance. He’s full of mercy. He knew the times when you’d fail, shrink back, and compromise. When we don’t deserve it, He steps in and says, “I’m giving you another chance to have a great relationship, to accomplish the dream, to step into your purpose. It’s not too late.” You haven’t made too many mistakes. God’s calling is still on your life. He never changes His mind. He doesn’t disqualify you. Now don’t disqualify yourself. Receive His mercy.

    PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for Your mercies that are new every morning and for Your great faithfulness to me. Thank You that I can start every day new, rejoicing and expecting a great day. I declare that I will keep setting my mind for victory and the abundance of Your favour today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

  • EVENING TEA

    THURSDAY, JANUARY 23, 2025.

    YOUR PLACE OF BLESSING.

    TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
    Genesis 16:9–10, TLB
“Return to your mistress and act as you should, for I will make you into a great nation.”

    TODAY’S WORD:
In Genesis 16, when Abraham and Sarah couldn’t have a baby, it was Sarah’s idea to have Abraham sleep with her maid, Hagar. When Hagar got pregnant, rather than be happy about it, Sarah mistreated Hagar so badly that she fled into the desert. The problem was that Hagar left her place of blessing. She had no way to survive in the desert. An angel appeared to her and was saying, “Go back to your place of blessing and serve Sarah. I’m making you into a great nation.” Sometimes you have to stay when it’s hard, to forgive those who do you wrong, and be good to people who are not being good to you. Being in the right place is better than getting your way. But notice how merciful God is. At times, we leave where we’re supposed to stay, or we stay where God wants us to leave. The good news is that God is going to send an angel to keep you from missing your place of blessing. You’re going to hear that still small voice inside, telling you what to do. Don’t ignore it.

    PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for being the merciful God who can take my messes and the things I’ve run away from and turn them into miracles when I return and face them. Thank You that Your grace is always there to help me. I believe that You are working all things together for my good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
