• MORNING TEA

    THURSDAY AUGUST 7, 2025.

    IMMOVABLE.

    TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
    Acts 20:24, NKJV-
“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy.”

    TODAY'S WORD:
It’s great when feelings assist us, when we feel hopeful, positive, and encouraged. But you can’t depend on those feelings because they come and go. Feelings can lead you astray. If you’re only going to have a good mood if things go your way, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. That’s surface living. You have to go deeper and say as Paul did, “None of these things move me. I’m not going to let other people, delays, or what doesn’t work out sour my day.” In other words, turn it over to God. You’re not supposed to go through life carrying around worries, stress, disappointments, and discouragement. Yes, you have some negative feelings, but you don’t have to let the feelings have you. You may feel upset, but you don’t have to act on it. You may feel offended, but you don’t have to take the offence. You may feel discouraged, but you can override it with thoughts that are full of faith, hope, and expectancy. Get your mind going in a new direction and choose to have a good mood.

    PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You that I can shut the door on the negative feelings that come against me and keep what You have promised and said about me close to my heart. Thank You that none of these things need to move me. I declare that my hope and expectancy are in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

  • Leaving an organization where you feel micro-managed can be a tough decision, but it can also be a necessary step for your growth and well-being. Here are a few thoughts to consider:
    1. Assess Your Needs: Think about what you need from a work environment. Autonomy and trust are crucial for many people to thrive.
    2. Communication: Before making a decision, consider having an open conversation with your manager about your feelings. They may not realize how their management style is affecting you.
    3. Evaluate the Bigger Picture: Consider whether this is a temporary situation or a pattern within the organization. If it’s systemic, it might be worth looking elsewhere.
    4. Career Goals: Reflect on how staying or leaving aligns with your long-term career goals. A position that stifles your growth might not be worth the short-term security.
    5. Exit Strategy: If you decide to leave, plan your exit carefully. Networking and exploring new opportunities can help ensure a smoother transition.
Ultimately, prioritizing your mental health and professional growth is key. It’s important to find a place where you feel valued and empowered.

  • Focus on your spouse’s best qualities

‘He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favour from the LORD.’ - Proverbs 18:22 NKJV

The best marriages are built by couples who try to remember the qualities that initially attracted them to one another. If you want to build a happy marriage or improve a less-than-happy one, do these:

    1) List your spouse’s best qualities. Write down the things you love most about him or her, and endeavour to keep those things in mind at all times. When stresses and strains surface in your relationship, as they inevitably will, go over the list in your mind, and if necessary refer to the written copy as a reminder.

    2) Focus on them. Think how your spouse’s great qualities enrich your life, and how much you would miss them if he or she was not around. When you change your focus, you change your feelings. And when you change your feelings, you change your perspective, your approach, and your reactions.

    3) Verbalise them. ‘Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also…praises her’ (Proverbs 31:28 NKJV). Your children learn how to build a great marriage or a miserable one by watching you. That thought alone should put the brakes on criticism and bring out the compliments!

    4) Nurture them. ‘A man reaps what he sows’ (Galatians 6:7 NIV). People wither under complaints, whereas they thrive and grow through praise and encouragement. Seize any moment worth celebrating and magnify it! Paul bottom-lines it: ‘If you love someone, you will be loyal…no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him’ (1 Corinthians 13:7 TLB).

    Read: Job 17-19, 1 Corinthians 2

  • Stop leading People on!!!

You know deep down you don’t like this person, your feelings for them are not strong, and you don't see a future with this person but you still keep them close, and still show them care thereby making them feel they are in something serious with you

Please always be honest and open about your intentions in a relationship.

If you're not ready for a committed relationship, it's best to kindly and considerately communicate that to the other person, rather than giving them false hope.

You know you don't have feelings for this young man but you're still allowing him to spend on you with the effect that you love him while still displaying a lovey-dovey attitude towards him.

This behavior can have serious effects on the other person, causing emotional pain and confusion reason is because this person loves you.

You know quite alright that this girl likes you a lot, she does things ordinarily she wouldn't do to any random guy for you and yet you still leading her on.

It's necessary to talk about it sincerely to prevent hurting the other

    Don't joke with people’s feelings.

    Goodnight
